Ollie and Oscar Recommend…

Summer Reading!

Ollie and Oscar love books, and love sharing their favorites with friends.  It is crucial that kids keep reading, even when they aren’t in the classroom!  Here are some of our favorites to keep in mind for the rest of the summer.  We promise you won’t be disappointed!

The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend by Dan Santat

  • This story is a true classic in the making. Beekle is an Imaginary Friend, waiting to find the child… the person who needs him, and he needs back.  But then, he gets tired of waiting and decides to take matters into his own hands and find that child himself!  What happens next may surprise you, and will keep you smiling until the last page.

Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin

  • This silly story is perfect for a picnic in the park with your little ones – but make sure the picnic basket is full, because it will leave you HUNGRY!  These dragons are insatiable, eating taco after taco and making new friends – and discoveries – along the way.  Adults and children alike will be unable to control their laughter as they make their way through this unforgettable book.

Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg

  • A book that teaches a beautiful and important lesson for kids and adults alike – making mistakes is part of life.  And not just that – mistakes can lead to wonderful discoveries, get your creativity flowing, and let your imagination run wild.  Mistakes don’t have to be a bad thing if you let them be the best thing!
